The system is designed around
four key programs:
1. The Director
Program.
Maintained at our facility, this program launches and ensures
the successful completion of all onsite and online backups at
the scheduled times. It also provides the capability to perform
ad-hoc backups and restores. Our professional staff manage program
results and take action to correct any unsuccessful backups.
2. The Storage
Program.
This program runs on one of the computers at your site. It can
be installed on Windows, Mac or Linux operating systems. A large
capacity disk drive is attached to this computer for the local
storage of backup data. The Storage Program manages the backup
data and sends tracking information to the Director Program.
3. The File Program.
This program is installed on every computer that needs its data
backed up. Windows, Mac and Linux are all supported. The File
Program starts the backup when instructed by the Director Program
and transfers the backup data to the Storage Program. It also
compresses the data to ensure the minimum required storage space
and encrypts the data, making it unreadable if accessed by an
unauthorized person.
4. The Online Program.
Installed on the same computer as the Storage Program, this program
manages the transfer of backups to the offsite storage location
via your broadband internet connection. It also manages the encryption
of the link between your office and the offsite storage site. |
